A unit means a bottle or box
The VSL#3 settlement administrator lists an October 20 claim deadline for United States purchasers between June 1, 2016 and June 19, 2019. The proposed $20 million settlement concerns alleged misleading clinical-effectiveness representations and overpayment. Defendants dispute the allegations; the settlement is not a court finding that every claim is true.
The notice describes a possible $20 benefit per bottle or box, subject to adjustment based on valid claims and available money. Without proof, claims are limited to one unit per household. With proof, the notice sets different unit rules and a maximum of forty units, described as $800 before pro rata adjustments.
Proof and final approval affect the benefit
Notice credentials can count as purchase proof for quantities reflected in obtained sales records. Receipts supporting more purchases can matter. Multiple bottles in a multipack each count as a unit, but the cap and historical purchase dates still apply.
The final-approval hearing is scheduled for January 6, 2027. Payments depend on the settlement becoming effective, and the notice says per-unit awards may adjust up or down with claim volume. Preserve the actual proof and use the official form. The approaching date is a reason to check historical purchases, not a guarantee of $800 for every probiotic customer or a medical conclusion about a product used today.
