The remedy is replacement parts

CPSC's October 1 Urban Arrow cargo electric-bike recall concerns a saddle-seat-post connection that can create a fall hazard. The notice lists Family, Shorty, Cargo L/XL and Tender 1000/1500 model descriptions, with specified colors and identifying features.

Gazelle USA's remedy is a free replacement seat post and saddle. It is not a full purchase-price refund. Consumers should stop using the recalled bicycles and complete the recall registration process before relying on replacement parts.

The dealer installation can be free

The notice says consumers can install the replacements without special tools or have an Urban Arrow dealer install them at no charge. Check the model and two-silver-bolt seat-post identification against the official material; owning another cargo bike does not establish eligibility.

The bikes sold through specialty stores from 2016 through 2022 for about $9,000. Keep the bicycle and registration details and follow dealer or recall instructions. The conceptual featured illustration is not an actual model photograph, so use CPSC's images to identify the affected bike. A free repair route does not cancel the immediate stop-use instruction.
