Termination changes the usual auto-renewal expectation
OPM lists several FEHB options and one PSHB plan that will not be available in 2027. Affected enrollees must select a new plan during November 9-December 14 Open Season or be enrolled in a designated default. This is an exception to the general message that coverage carries forward unchanged.
The FEHB list includes Independent Health Standard and HDHP, Blue Care Network of Michigan Southeast High, two UHC Primary West High options and four Health Net of California options. Check the exact option and service area in the official list. A carrier name alone does not establish that every option from that carrier ends.
The FEHB and postal defaults are different
Affected FEHB enrollees default to Compass Rose Standard. The terminating postal plan is UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus Primary Postal East, with affected enrollees defaulting to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Service Benefit Plan FEP Blue Focus. Those defaults are not interchangeable.
Compare doctors, prescriptions, premiums and cost sharing before selecting a replacement. Automatic default enrollment does not prove the new network or benefits match the old plan. Ask the carrier or agency benefits officer about the exact plan code and transition; the highlights are not an individual enrollment confirmation.
