Account holders and video viewing are both required

The TED Foundation video-privacy settlement accepts claims until October 26, 2026 at 11:59 p.m., according to the administrator. The case website now says final approval was moved to November 13 at 11 a.m. because of a scheduling conflict. The changed hearing does not extend the claim deadline.

The class includes United States TED account holders who watched a prerecorded video on TED.com or the iOS or Android app between October 19, 2021 and July 14, 2026. Merely seeing a video somewhere else or browsing without the account conditions does not establish membership.

Cash replaces the membership benefit

The settlement offers two free months of TED Membership subject to activation. Instead, class members may claim a $5 payment subject to proportional reduction, or select a donation option. The cash pool is capped at $350,000. Membership, cash and a donation should not be marketed as three benefits all received together.

Online claims require the claim ID and PIN from the notice, with one claim allowed per ID. Exclusion and objection also have October 26 deadlines. TED denies wrongdoing in the alleged disclosure of video-related information; neither membership value nor the proposed cash amount proves an individual benefit has been delivered.
