Electronic and mailed claims have different dates
TAL Education securities claims may be filed electronically through October 8, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time. The notice gives September 29 for mailed claim postmarks, which has passed. It would be wrong to tell investors that mailing a claim October 8 meets the same requirement.
The $14.1 million proposed fund covers qualifying publicly traded American depositary shares purchased or acquired January 14, 2022 through March 14, 2023 and held until at least March 14. Transaction and loss rules, not merely having used TAL educational services, define eligibility.
Holding the ADSs through March 14 matters
Payments depend on the approved allocation, documented transactions, fees and the number of valid claims. Average per-share figures in the notice are estimates, not guaranteed cash for every ADS. A recognized loss calculation is also different from the amount a brokerage statement shows as the total market loss.
The notice separately lists October 8 for mailed exclusions and October 15 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern for emailed exclusions. Those dates must not be copied into a benefit claim. The hearing is scheduled October 29. Check the actual filing route and retain confirmation rather than treating all listed deadlines as interchangeable.
