Qualification comes before reimbursable work

The St. Johns River Water Management District began its 2026-27 water-conservation rebate cycle October 1. The program covers specified nonagricultural projects for local governments, small utilities, associations and private or public multifamily properties. It is not a universal household fixture rebate.

The cost share covers up to 50% of actual costs, subject to item-specific maximums and a $10,000 applicant annual cap. Eligible items include certain irrigation controllers, irrigation conversions, indoor fixture retrofits and other listed services. Funding is first come, first served and can run out.

A fiscal-year cap and item limits both apply

Qualification and an executed cost-share agreement precede the project. For applicants qualified before October 1, eligible expenses may begin that day; later qualifications change the earliest eligible expense date. Buying equipment before the required step can therefore affect reimbursement.

Eligible costs may be incurred through September 30, 2027 and submitted for reimbursement by October 29, 2027. Follow the current handbook and invoice requirements rather than treating the displayed funding balance as an award to your project. The program page still contains an unfinished qualification-link label, so verify the current application route with the district.
