Where the scan happened matters

The Skin360 biometric-privacy administrator says claimants must have performed a skin assessment while in Illinois between December 9, 2019 and May 5, 2023. The assessment could be through the mobile or web application. Living elsewhere now or recognizing the brand does not answer the historical-location test.

The proposed $4.7 million settlement fund pays valid claims along with approved administration, legal and service costs. It is not a fixed personal award. A valid claim is required by November 25, either through the official site or by the specified mailed-form route.

The fund is not a per-person payment

Exclusion and objection deadlines are November 10, with different submission requirements. Excluding yourself and objecting have different legal effects, so the claim date should not be treated as the deadline for every decision.

The final-approval hearing is scheduled for December 17. The administrator warns appeals could delay payment, even after approval. Preserve available use and notice details, and review the actual class definition. The open privacy claim route concerns historical Illinois face assessments, not a refund for every cosmetic purchase or proof that every face-scanning product violates the law.
