A scheduled portal launch is not a completed rollout

OPM says the Postal Service Health Benefits System enrollee portal is being redesigned for launch during Open Season for the 2027 plan year. The announced changes include updated navigation and distinct qualifying-life-event and Open Season workflows. The highlights describe a scheduled launch, not proof it is already available today.

A qualifying life event such as marriage, birth or loss of coverage can involve an immediate enrollment-change request under applicable rules. That is different from making a routine Open Season election for the next plan year. A portal workflow does not itself waive the required event evidence or filing conditions.

Life events and Open Season elections differ

Postal enrollees are directed to the PSHB system to research and compare plans. Current premium information is also on OPM. Follow the official entry point rather than a third-party portal offered in an unsolicited message, especially when enrollment changes require personal family information.

Open Season runs November 9 through December 14. Check that any completed request has the intended election type and effective date; a new screen layout is not evidence that a request was approved. The announcement describes process improvements, not a new cash benefit or a universal extension for reporting life events.
