The purchase period and jurisdiction are specific

New consumer pork-price settlements have an October 29 claim deadline. The administrator says the additional notice campaign began in late August and covers settlements with the remaining defendants; earlier JBS and Smithfield claim deadlines are closed.

The class requires covered personal-consumption purchases from June 28, 2014 through June 30, 2018 in the twenty-four listed jurisdictions. The notice covers specified raw pork cuts and bacon from the relevant producers or co-conspirators. A recent grocery purchase or a purchase outside the listed places does not establish eligibility.

Seasoned and organic products have exclusions

Organic and no-antibiotics-ever pork are excluded, as are non-bacon products that are marinated, seasoned, flavored or breaded. The new monetary settlements total $117.065 million; Agri Stats relief is nonmonetary. Neither every pork product nor every defendant creates an extra cash payment.

Valid claims must be submitted or postmarked by October 29. Awards are proportional to covered purchases under the approved terms, not a fixed amount for every shopper. Read the official product and jurisdiction list before claiming. The approaching deadline is an actionable peg, but the defendants deny wrongdoing and the court has not ruled that they committed the alleged conduct.
