Two date ranges define the class

New York City's Central Booking settlement has an October 5 exclusion and objection deadline, before the October 19 claim cutoff. The live administrator describes three consolidated cases concerning conditions of confinement and a proposed fund of up to $21.5 million.

The stated eligibility periods are April 8, 2017 through December 27, 2019 for Brooklyn Central Booking, and February 3, 2020 through March 1, 2023 for all Central Booking locations. A detention outside the applicable dates is not established as eligible by the city name alone.

The payment ceiling is conditional

Eligible class members may receive up to $475 per qualifying detention, subject to the settlement. The maximum is not a guaranteed payment. A claim is required to obtain money; merely receiving notice or remaining in the class does not substitute for filing.

The approval hearing is scheduled for October 22. Keep detention and notice records, review the release and the separate legal-options deadline, and follow current administrator instructions. A hearing date is not an approval order, and the proposed total is not the amount payable to each person.
