New York Attorney General Letitia James announced Thursday that Ascend Laboratories and Mayne Pharma are paying a combined $1 million to settle state claims over a generic drug price-fixing scheme. Mayne will pay $650,000 and Ascend $400,000. A coalition of 47 other attorneys general joined the settlements.
New Yorkers who bought a generic prescription drug listed on the settlement website between May 2009 and December 2019 may be eligible for compensation. The claim deadline is March 8, 2027. Claims can be filed at AGGenericDrugs.com, by email at info@aggenericdrugs.com, or by phone at 1-866-290-0182.
A third company, Citron Pharma, settled on non-monetary terms because it has stopped doing business. The announcement says the funds will go to affected consumers across the coalition states, and each settling company agreed to antitrust compliance reforms including annual training.
The settlements are part of three multistate lawsuits against generic drug makers. The announcement lists earlier settlements, including $400 million from Sandoz earlier this month.
