Choose the cash route and document the loss

Mortgage Investors Group settlement claims are due November 19, 2026. The case concerns private information implicated in a December 2024 cyberattack. The administrator class definition turns on affected information, not simply whether someone currently holds a mortgage.

Claimants may request one year of monitoring and either documented out-of-pocket losses up to $2,000 or a one-time $45 alternative cash payment. The alternative needs no loss proof or explanation. Documented losses must be tied to the incident and fall between December 12, 2024 and November 19, 2026.

The cap includes costs as well as benefits

MIG obligations are capped at $925,000 across litigation fees, administration and class benefits. If the total exceeds that limit, payments are reduced proportionally. Calling the $45 figure guaranteed would miss a condition that affects actual distribution.

Exclusion and objection are due October 20. The final hearing is scheduled November 10, before the claim deadline. Keep the notice and supporting records, and use the administrator instructions for missing login credentials. MIG denies the claims; submitting a form is not proof that the claimed expense has been approved.
