Pennsylvania Mavis Customers Have Until January 26 to Support a Restitution Claim

A September 28 settlement sets aside $190,000 for harmed consumers. Complaints need support, and filing does not guarantee a payment.

Pennsylvania's attorney general announced September 28 a settlement with Mavis Discount Tire over allegations of charging for unnecessary or unperformed services and poor-quality repair work. The agreement provides $215,000 in monetary relief, including $190,000 for consumer restitution and $25,000 in costs.

Consumers already complained, or who submit sufficiently supported complaints by January 26, 2027, may be included in restitution. The date is a complaint deadline under this state agreement, not a promise that every customer with a Mavis receipt receives money. The agency advises affected customers who have not contacted it to do so before that date.

Mavis operates more than 130 Pennsylvania branches and agreed to oversight and training. Another $100,000 becomes payable if it violates settlement terms. That conditional amount should not be described as money already available to shoppers. The agreement is not an admission of a legal violation.

Preserve invoices, the work authorized, communications and evidence of any repeat repair or unperformed service. The Bureau of Consumer Protection accepts complaints online or by calling 1-800-441-2555. Use the official agency route instead of paying a purported claims service, and distinguish this Pennsylvania remedy from any unrelated dispute in another state.
