Osisko Gold Group Inc. has announced the appointment of Cameron Carter as Vice President, Construction Operations for its Cariboo Gold Project. This significant development, effective immediately, is aimed at strengthening the leadership team as the company progresses towards construction and production.
The Cariboo Gold Project, located in central British Columbia, is a key asset for Osisko Gold, reflecting its strategy to become an intermediate gold producer. Carter will oversee the execution of construction activities at the project, working closely with JDS Energy & Mining Inc., the principal construction management contractor.
Sean Roosen, Chairman and CEO of Osisko Gold, expressed enthusiasm about Carter's appointment, stating, "We are excited to welcome Cameron to the Osisko Gold team. He brings a strong technical background and extensive expertise in building large-scale underground mines globally." Roosen emphasized that Carter's commitment to safety and operational excellence will be invaluable as the project advances.
Carter has over 18 years of experience in underground mine development and has held senior roles in mine engineering and operations management. His previous experience includes significant projects with Dumas Mining and contributions to various successful underground mining operations.
Additionally, the company announced the departure of Sarah Harrison, Vice President of Permitting and Compliance, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities. Greenwood Environmental Inc. will now handle permitting and compliance matters, with Harrison remaining available in an advisory capacity.
Osisko Gold Group Inc. is a North American gold development company focused on past-producing mining camps with district-scale potential. The Cariboo Gold Project is fully permitted and 100% owned by Osisko, which aims to capitalize on the region's mining-friendly environment.
