Paid fees and unpaid fees are different

Just4Veterans settlement cash claims are due October 5, 2026, according to the administrator. The case concerns veterans charged fees for help with VA disability claims on or after September 20, 2020. It is not a general payment to all veterans or a new VA disability award.

The proposed settlement offers proportional payments to eligible people who paid J4V, submit a valid claim and did not opt out. Payments may be up to the amount paid, but approved deductions and allocation affect the result. J4V denies wrongdoing; the court has not decided that the allegations are correct.

A cash claim still needs the form

People charged eligible fees they never paid have a separate discharge benefit without needing a claim form. The administrator says J4V would waive collection rights for those fees. That is different from receiving a refund: a person who paid and wants cash must file the required form.

Online claims require the unique ID and password from the email notice, or a claim can be mailed with an October 5 postmark. Exclusion and objection deadlines passed September 3. The final fairness hearing is scheduled October 14, so a claim submission today is not confirmation that money has already been approved or sent.
