Older invoices can define a current claim
The IOD/Datavant Pennsylvania medical-record fee settlement requires proof of claim to be received by November 30, 2026. Its FAQ explicitly says a mailing postmark is not enough. A person using paper should allow delivery time rather than assume mailing on the deadline preserves the claim.
The class definition covers specified maximum basic, search-and-retrieval and copying fees charged and paid between July 15, 2005 and September 3, 2012 for qualifying Pennsylvania record requests, subject to notice and exclusions. It can include patients, representatives and certain designated attorneys or insurers, not every medical-record purchaser.
The deadline is receipt, not postmark
The benefit is 35 percent of qualifying invoiced amounts under the administrator records. The personalized transaction list and benefit calculation can be inspected through the notice login. Requests outside the period or charges not within the covered definition should not be treated as reimbursable merely because Datavant now holds the records.
Exclusion closed October 1; the hearing is scheduled October 16. Payment depends on approval and appeals. The FAQ says someone reimbursed for the original copying fee should consider whether the recovery belongs to the reimbursing person or entity. Keep the invoice and submission confirmation and do not confuse a receipt deadline with a postmark rule.
