Illinois location and the interview model both matter

The HireVue biometric-privacy settlement accepts claims through October 13, 2026. It covers specified interviews completed while in Illinois between January 27, 2017 and June 25, 2026. Completing any video interview does not automatically establish class membership.

The FAQ says the lawsuit concerns certain models alleged to analyze facial or vocal characteristics without proper consent. HireVue states they began being phased out in 2020 and were completely retired by February 2023. The later class cutoff is the preliminary-approval date, not evidence those models stayed in use until 2026.

The end date does not prove current biometric use

Eligible members need a valid claim to obtain payment. The fund also pays approved fees, expenses and representative awards. Estimates based on an equal fund share are not proof every interview candidate receives a specified amount.

Exclusion and objection dates passed September 28 and approval is scheduled October 28. Defendants deny wrongdoing. Retain interview and notice details and follow the actual administrator form; the proposed deal is not a ruling that every current HireVue product collects the disputed biometrics.
