The Federal Trade Commission said Tuesday it is sending more than $100,000 to people who bought from GOAT, an online marketplace for sneakers, apparel and accessories. The money goes to 6,205 customers who have not yet been paid in a settlement over refund and shipping practices.

The FTC's 2024 complaint said GOAT did not ship some priority-processing orders as fast as it promised. It also said buyers were not offered the choice to accept a delay or cancel for a prompt refund, as the agency's Mail, Internet or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule requires. A second claim covered GOAT's Buyer Protection promise: the FTC said the company often denied refunds for items that were fake, wrong or not as described, or gave only a partial refund or store credit.

In 2025, GOAT refunded more than $736,000 directly to affected customers. This latest round covers people who were left out of that earlier payout. Most will get a check in the mail, and the rest will get a PayPal payment. The FTC says check recipients have 90 days to cash the check, and PayPal recipients have 30 days to redeem the payment.

Questions go to the refund administrator, JND Legal Administration, at 1-888-970-2410, or to the FTC's refund page. The agency says it never requires anyone to pay money or give account information to receive a payment. If a message about a refund asks for either, treat it as a scam and contact the administrator through the number the FTC lists.
