The class is limited by vehicle and state
The FCA valve-train settlement lists October 12, 2026 for reimbursement claims, with online filing through 11:59 p.m. Pacific time. The case concerns specified Ram, Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler vehicles with 3.6-liter engines purchased or leased in California and ten listed states.
The administrator identifies particular model-year ranges, mostly 2015-2020, and excludes specified total-loss vehicles. Check the exact model, VIN and state history rather than assume every car with a similar engine qualifies.
Paid repairs and automatic warranty relief differ
The proposed extension covers failed rocker arms, valve-stem oil seals and tappets for the earlier of seven years from the in-service date or 70,000 miles. That clock does not restart at settlement approval. The warranty benefit is automatic for eligible members if approved; past paid diagnostics or repairs need a documented claim.
Claims require payment proof and records identifying the vehicle, component, owner and repair facility. Exclusion and objections also have October 12 dates, with approval scheduled October 28. FCA denies wrongdoing. The settlement is not a nationwide engine recall or a guarantee every past repair invoice is reimbursed.
