Loan records determine eligibility

The New Mexico FastBucks restitution program is accepting claims through November 24. The live administrator says eligibility depends on consumer loan data identifying borrowers adversely affected by the practices addressed in the court case, not every person who used a payday lender.

The program reports about $964,000 in gross recovered funds. Net payments depend on approved costs, final distribution rules, valid claims and loan-level information. Receiving a notice does not guarantee a specific amount, and the headline recovered sum is not divided into an automatic equal award.

A notice does not establish a fixed amount

A Claim ID helps the administrator use existing records. People without an assigned ID may submit additional loan information for verification. The official FAQ says not to submit both online and mailed claims for the same matter and to keep copies of what is filed.

Approved payments are expected to begin in April 2027 after review, but that schedule may change. The fresh claim window follows a long-running case and recovery process, not a newly created universal loan cancellation program. Use the verified administrator instructions and avoid sending original sensitive records unless requested through that process.
