Eden Brothers LLC of Arden, North Carolina, announced on Oct. 7 that it is recalling Calabrese broccoli seeds because its supplier said they may be contaminated with Salmonella. The FDA posted the company's notice the same day. The company says no illnesses have been reported.
The recall covers Eden Brothers lots 1022067 and 1022068, supplier lot W4105, in packet, 1-ounce and 1-pound sizes. The lot number is printed on the packet or bag. The seeds were sold on EdenBrothers.com and Amazon.com from July 8 through Sept. 28, 2026, and shipped nationwide. Eden Brothers stopped selling the lots and is contacting customers directly.
The company tells gardeners not to plant, sprout, eat or share the seeds, and not to use them for microgreens. It says to seal the seeds in a bag and throw them in household trash, not compost, then wash hands and any surfaces or containers that touched them. Anyone who gave the seeds to others should tell them about the recall.
Eden Brothers is offering a full refund through a recall reply form on its site, and a team member will follow up. Questions can go to customer service at 855-440-2929, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern, or service@edenbrothers.com. Salmonella can cause serious illness in young children, older adults and people with weak immune systems, according to the company's notice. The FDA says it does not endorse the product or company.
