The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall Thursday of about 42,860 DR Power Equipment Pilot and Premier walk-behind trimmer mowers, plus about 340 sold in Canada. CPSC says grass and debris can accumulate in the machine and ignite. DR Power has received 19 reports of fires, including two reports of minor injuries such as blisters on hands and feet.

The mowers are orange and black with the DR Power logo. The recalled model numbers on the side of the frame are T4X1076DMN, T4X1076DMNR, T4X1076DMNSD, T4X1176DMN, T4X1176DMN-1, T4X1176DMNR, TR43076DMN and TR43076DMNR, all serial numbers. They sold at Ace, TSC, Bomgaars, other hardware stores and drpower.com from November 2022 through July 2026 for $380 to $550.

Owners should stop using the mower and contact DR Power for a free repair kit at 800-854-3194 or recall@drpower.com. Anyone who is not comfortable installing it can ask for free installation by an authorized dealer.
