The Justice Department announced October 13, 2026 that Leo Anzivino Jr., 35, of Falmouth, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty to conspiring to launder proceeds of a health care fraud scheme of more than $6 million. He agreed to be the nominal owner of Advanced Medical Supply Corp. of Rochester, New Hampshire, though co-conspirators actually owned and ran it.
According to court documents, Advanced billed Medicare more than $6 million for durable medical equipment such as knee and back braces that beneficiaries did not need and doctors did not prescribe, using fake physician orders. Medicare paid more than $3 million. DOJ says beneficiaries returned boxes with notes saying they had not ordered the items and calling it a scam.
Anzivino was listed as owner on Medicare enrollment papers and gave a bank false ownership certifications. After learning Medicare billing privileges would be revoked, he wired $1,494,938.09 in three transfers over about five weeks. The government seized about $353,768 from Advanced’s account in 2024. Sentencing is January 21, 2027, with a maximum of 10 years.
