Evolution Metals & Technologies Corp. has made a significant move in securing its supply chain by announcing the acquisition of approximately 754 metric tons of neodymium metal. This supply is expected to cover around 50% of the feedstock required to meet the company's revenue guidance for 2027, which ranges from $400 million to $460 million. This strategic acquisition not only strengthens EM&T's operational capabilities but also positions it as a key player in the rare earth magnet industry, particularly as companies seek to reduce their dependence on Chinese sources.

On October 29, 2026, the company disclosed in a press release that it has already received about 42 metric tons of neodymium at its facility in Pohang, South Korea, with an additional 72 metric tons pending shipment through March 2027. Furthermore, the company has secured a commitment for 640 metric tons through the end of 2027, which includes a notable contract with Senri Trading for 600 metric tons of rapid delivery. Additionally, discussions are underway for a further 1,000 metric tons to be delivered in 2027.

Founded as Welsbach Technology Metals Acquisition Corp., Evolution Metals & Technologies Corp. operates under the SIC classification of Miscellaneous Electrical Machinery, Equipment & Supplies. The company trades on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol EMAT and is headquartered in Miami, Florida. EM&T is recognized as an emerging growth company, focusing on critical materials and advanced manufacturing.

The filing indicates that EM&T is not only securing its neodymium supply but also diversifying its sources. The company holds 520 kilograms of dysprosium metal in Pohang, with a commitment of 1.5 metric tons per month starting in February 2027. This strategic positioning allows EM&T to mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions, especially given the historical dominance of China in the rare earth market.

"There is no shortage of rare earth material. China is a net importer of rare earth ore, with approximately 60% of what it processes coming from outside China," said Frank Moon, CEO of EM&T. He emphasized that the real challenge lies in the ability to convert ore into midstream materials necessary for magnet production. With this supply secured, EM&T believes it has addressed a significant constraint on magnet supply outside of China.

As EM&T moves forward, the company has identified all ten factors required to manufacture rare earth magnets at a large commercial scale, including land, power, equipment, permits, operators, feedstock, magnets, buyers, buyer certifications, and capital. This comprehensive approach positions EM&T to become one of the largest producers of magnets and magnet materials outside of China.

Looking ahead, EM&T's expansion plans include increasing its annual rare earth magnet production capacity from approximately 1,000 metric tons to over 10,000 metric tons. The company is also commissioning all 57 containers of ULVAC equipment to support this growth. As a result, EM&T is poised to play a pivotal role in the global rare earth magnet market.

The filing does not specify what actions will follow this announcement, but the secured supply and ongoing negotiations indicate that EM&T is actively working to solidify its market position and enhance its production capabilities.
