Check the communications period
Patients whose information was involved in the ConnectOnCall breach have until November 2 to submit claims under the current proposed settlement. The administrator describes an after-hours healthcare answering service incident discovered in May 2024, involving access to provider-patient communications. Defendants deny wrongdoing, and the case has not produced a liability finding.
The settlement class concerns people whose private information was affected, not everyone who has ever called a doctor after business hours. Its documented-loss route requires an attestation about communications with a healthcare provider or office between May 12, 2014 and May 12, 2024. Check the class definition and notice before assuming that a medical visit qualifies.
A loss ceiling is not a promised award
The $4.95 million fund pays eligible benefits as well as administration, approved lawyers' fees and service awards. Documented, unreimbursed losses attributed to the incident may qualify for up to $5,000, with supporting evidence that is not self-prepared. The cap is not an automatic payment.
Two years of dark-web and medical-data monitoring is another described benefit. Read the cash-election rules carefully rather than adding every advertised figure together. Exclusion and objection deadlines are October 19, while the approval hearing is scheduled for November 17. Payments remain subject to approval and the settlement terms.
