The applicant is an electric provider

Colorado opened an EV Home Charge funding round October 5, with applications due October 30, 2026 at 5 p.m. Mountain time. Eligible applicants are electric cooperatives and municipal utilities. The grant is not a direct $350,000 household rebate.

Eligible providers may seek up to $350,000 to offer customer rebates for electric-panel and wiring upgrades supporting residential Level 2 charging. Enhanced incentives can support income-qualified customers. Investor-owned utilities cannot apply under this program.

Eligible home upgrades have a defined scope

The eligible housing scope includes single-family homes, duplexes, townhomes and certain small multifamily residences with private garages. Public charging at commercial properties or larger multifamily settings follows a different program. The listed funding is for wiring and panel upgrades rather than a blanket promise to pay every electric-car expense.

Households should ask their utility whether it has a funded program and review its actual rebate rules before buying equipment. The state prioritizes providers without existing panel and wiring incentives. An application round and an estimated December award notification do not establish that a rebate is already open for a particular address.
