Read the subclass on your notice

Amazon's return-policy litigation has an open settlement website with a December 1 claim deadline. The official administrator separates two groups: Subclass A members receive automatic payments, while Subclass B members must submit eligible claims to receive money.

The distinction means a headline telling every Amazon shopper to file a claim is incomplete. Read the notice and the official subclass definition. Having returned an item at some point does not by itself show that the transaction falls within the settlement.

A returned parcel does not guarantee payment

This case concerns return-policy disputes, not the FTC's Prime enrollment case or the separate D.C. delivery-exclusion agreement. Those cases have different eligible populations and relief. Do not use a Prime refund notice as proof that a return-policy claim applies.

The administrator lists December 1 for claims, exclusions and objections and March 16, 2027 for the final-approval hearing. No class-member payments are provided unless the settlement becomes final. Preserve return, refund and notice records, and use the current administrator instructions to determine whether there is a required action rather than paying a third party to unlock a promised Amazon award.
