Immatics N.V. has announced updated clinical trial data for IMA402, a PRAME-targeted bispecific T-cell engager (TCER), demonstrating promising results in advanced solid tumors. The data, presented on October 24, 2026, indicates significant anti-tumor activity and a favorable safety profile, which could enhance Immatics' position in the competitive landscape of biological products.
As of the June 1, 2026 data cutoff, 126 heavily pretreated patients across multiple tumor types, primarily melanoma and ovarian cancer, received at least one infusion of IMA402. The efficacy population included 40 patients treated within the recommended Phase 2 dose (RP2D) range of 10 to 45 mg. Among these, 31 patients exhibited high PRAME expression levels in their tumors, which is a key target for the therapy.
Notably, the trial results showed a confirmed objective response rate (cORR) of 32% and a median duration of response (DOR) of 12.5 months in patients with high PRAME expression. Additionally, the overall survival rate at one year was reported at 91%, indicating a strong potential for IMA402 as a treatment option.
Immatics, a leader in precision targeting of PRAME, aims to advance IMA402 across various cancer types and treatment lines. The company plans to explore combination approaches with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in melanoma and gynecologic cancers, as well as in lung cancer with its MAGEA4/8-directed bispecific, IMA401.
The clinical profile of IMA402 supports its development path in earlier and later treatment lines, bolstered by Immatics’ innovative liquid biopsy-based PRAME testing. This could facilitate precise patient selection and expedite potential market entry strategies, subject to regulatory approval.
Immatics also highlighted the promising data for IMA203CD8, another PRAME-targeted therapy, which demonstrated a confirmed objective response rate of 55% in advanced gynecologic cancers. This reinforces the company's strategy to leverage multiple complementary approaches to target PRAME.
The findings were presented at the 2026 Annual Meeting of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) in Madrid, Spain, where Immatics showcased its commitment to advancing cancer therapies.
Looking ahead, Immatics is expected to continue its clinical trials and may provide further updates on the progress of IMA402 and IMA203CD8. The company’s ongoing commitment to innovation in cancer treatment positions it well within the biological products industry.
