Optimum Fund Trust has made significant changes to its investment management strategy by updating its sub-advisory agreement for the Optimum Fixed Income Fund. This decision, approved by the Board of Trustees, is intended to enhance the management of the fund's investments and aligns with the trend of increasing flexibility in investment management.
The Board of Trustees of Optimum Fund Trust approved the new sub-advisory agreement with Nomura Corporate Research and Asset Management Inc. (NCRAM) during a meeting held on June 16-17, 2026. The agreement allows NCRAM to serve as a high-yield fixed income securities sub-advisor for a portion of the fund managed by Delaware Management Company, the fund's investment manager.
The changes were made without requiring shareholder approval, as permitted by an order from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This flexibility is a growing trend in the investment industry, allowing funds to adapt more quickly to market conditions and investment opportunities.
According to the filing, the Manager will continue to oversee NCRAM's activities and ensure that the sub-advisory services align with the fund's investment objectives. The new agreement is expected to enhance the fund's performance by leveraging NCRAM's specialized expertise in high-yield securities.
As part of the SEC's order, the Trust and the Manager are required to notify shareholders within 90 days of hiring a new sub-advisor. A Notice of Internet Availability of the Information Statement regarding this change was mailed to shareholders on or about October 28, 2026, with the information also available on the fund's website.
This strategic move by Optimum Fund Trust reflects its commitment to optimizing investment management and providing robust performance for its shareholders. The addition of NCRAM as a sub-advisor is anticipated to bring valuable insights and strategies to the fund's investment approach.
